Bridleways is a beautiful guest house and selection of holiday homes located in Nottinghamshire. Bridleways had recently been bought by new owners, who came to me via a referral and were looking for help to create a new logo for their business. They had a clear vision of where they wanted to take their new venture and had done some research on what logo styles they liked. The private, quiet, semi-rural setting and tranquil surroundings along with superior customer service were important points they wanted to convey.
Being near to Sherwood Forest, we started the project with a mood board looking at all the different colours, textures and feelings you get within a forest. In the initial discussion, illustrations and sketches was something that had been noted as a liked style. This style led itself to work with the forest theme and the textures we had been looking at really well. The colours used were taken from the forest palette but also conveyed warmth. The chosen fonts also added to this ‘warmth’ and reflected the textures from the forest. The important things were to make sure the logo didn’t look dated or twee.
The illustration was kept simple putting the full logo into context of the Guest House surroundings and was created using a textured brush to sit with the textured font.
The final logo was supplied in various formats so that new signage could be created and could also be used across the new website and social media pages so everything was up to date and consistent.
