Studio Stories-Claire Jenks Graphic Design-Company Update

July has been a much more chilled month with content creation and business development as a focus, along with a few birthday celebrations :D. I’ve also started to think more about myself and taking some time to focus on looking after my health and energy, something I think as a business owner is really important but is often neglected. The sunshine and heat wave we’ve been having here in the UK this month has meant I’ve been wanting to spend more time outside in the fresh air which is definitely helping towards this goal and my routine. Though a little too warm…but I won’t complain too much!

This month I attended the first Marketing Meet Up event held in Newcastle at TusPark hosted by Joe Glover. I was first told about the Marketing Meet Up’s by Lenka Koppová who attends the Cambridge event and had to make sure I went along to the first one in my home city. The basis of the event is great and I’m looking forward to seeing the community here in Newcastle grow. If you fancy coming along to an event just let me know, it would be great to say hello!

I was swept away this month by my husband to a remote part of the Pennines, away from wifi access and phone signal for my birthday. It was lovely to spend some time away from the daily routine and have a digital detox for a few days, spending some time walking in the hills and watching the red squirrels in the garden. I would love to be able to do this more often and think everyone needs some time out to refresh and take their mind off the daily jobs and workload.

On the 9th July I took part in a webinar for Kaseya with around the topic of: “Selling MSP Services: Marketing Tips for MSPs” hosted by the IT Business Growth expert, Richard Tubb and alongside Kaseya Product Marketing Director Rachael Walker. If you would like to check out the webinar, you can watch on demand here. It was a fun webinar with a focus on creating a marketing plan, content marketing, and branding for MSP’s. Topics we could have spoken all day about!

My biggest achievement this month was running the Great North 10k. I’m new to running and training for the Great North Run half marathon in a few month’s time and hadn’t ran further than 5k before this race. I had so much support from family and friends and crossed the line with a time of 1:10:00. I couldn’t have been prouder of myself for beating my planned time and for getting up and doing it. I very nearly pulled out the day before. It just goes to show “If you want something, you can achieve it, if you put your mind to it.

Today I raced my first 10k in 1 hour and 10. After nearly backing out because “I wasnt quite ready” and worrying that Id be dissapointed by my results I could not be prouder of myself. I didn’t do much training and knew it would be hard after struggling to run 2k earlier in the week. • There’s huge a wave of achievement crossing that finishing line, knowing you’ve far succeeded your own expectations, especially with supporters in the stand who couldn’t be more proud and show you so much love. • It really has shown me that if you want something you’ll do want to can to achieve it and that mindset plays a huge part in that. Whether that be a race, something personal or in business. It will have been a small race to some people but this was a challenge for me to overcome. Now to face the next challenge! • #gateshead10k #greatnorth10k #running #achieveyourgoals #proudofmyself #supportsystem #thebestyoucanbe #challengeyourself #believeinyourself #overcomeobstacles #overcomechallenges #fitnessformind

As mentioned in the intro, I’ve started to take some time to focus on myself and my health and energy. It’s amazing how much your energy levels have an impact on your day to day life and your work. I’m working with Aileen Smith, The Health Heroine on her new Activate Your Health MOJO group coaching programme which will help get me back on the right track with what I’m eating and drinking to make sure my energy levels are at their peak. It should also help me when it comes to running the full 13.1 mile Great North Run in September! I’m running for Diabetes UK if you would like to sponsor me here, even the smallest amount would be much appreciated.

I’m excited that I’ve just booked tickets for Transformation Live next year hosted by Lee Jackson and I’m really looking forward to going along. This is an event I’m going to be attending for myself and my business, with growing my business and agency as a focus. I’m looking forward to hearing from some great speakers and meeting some new faces. If you’re heading along, I would love to say hello!
